Counselling

Angela is currently training in counselling from a Transactional Analysis perspective.

Counselling is a talking therapy where you can describe your problems and feelings in a confidential environment.  Your sense of safety is important, to maintain this we can agree what you need to talk about and how best to help you.  This process of contracting forms a part of your first appointment, and can be revisited and changed as needed.  It gives us the opportunity to acknowledge what changes you would like to happen, and the purpose of our counselling sessions.

Transactional Analysis helps us look at our relationships and social interactions.  Through this process we can gain a greater understanding of ourselves, and our behaviours.  It was developed by Eric Berne in the 1950s.  He defined the human capacities for spontaneity, awareness and intimacy as achievable goals for TA therapy.
